In earlier days of internet, a website’s popularity was measured in how many people visit it, how popular is its content and what tools the sites uses. But those days faded away very quick and now the biggest way to major any website’s success is its pagerank. Now Google is ruling the internet and its tools are measuring the success of website
Pagerank has become one of the most popular ways of measuring success. But what actually is pagerank? Pagerank is the value Google gives to any website. If your website is new and has no backlinks then your website’s Pagerank (PR) will be 0 and as you create more and more backlinks too your website your PR will increase. Google takes every backlinks from other site as a vote to your site , if you get a link from a new site then power of the link will be less but if you can get a backlinks from big sites like Yahoo! or MSN then Google takes that link as high quality and give you more PR.
Google’s PR is the main tool to major popularity of a site but still Google says that you need to make your site for your visitors not for Pagerank, because according to them the more visitor you get more popular your website will be.
