Arizona / Phoenix SEO market

Thursday, August 20th, 2009

Local SEO companies are getting more and more popular, customers don’t want to buy search engine optimization packages from some anonymous call center person promosing the world. They want a long term SEO partner to work with and push ideas back and forth with.

In the Arizona SEO industry a Phoenix SEO compay has emerged called First in Search. They offer a wide range of services and seem somewhat specialized towards the automotive market. It seems they really get the concept and value of close customer relationsships. For example they offer free SEO seminars where everybody gets an opportunty to see what they know, can ask questions and so on.

If you’re in the Arizona area do check out First in Search.

Industry specific SEO guides

Sunday, February 17th, 2008

When you are in the business of SEO you know that to start working with new types of businesses acting in industries that you previously did not know so much about can be though. It takes quite some time to learn the dynamics behind a new industry in terms of SEO, especially in terms of which words are converting, where are the large search volumes etc.

In this regard I found a new interesting site called Optimized.org’s SEO guides. They have a not so usual take on presenting information about SEO in that they make their content industry specific. For an example check out their automotive SEO guide which gives some tips of what to think about when doing search engine optimization for the automotive industry and specifically car dealers operating in a specific region.

Although not completely there yet the future for Optimized seems to be to make a directory with SEO consultants specialising in different industries. I think this is a great idea since on of the key point of successful SEO is link building from relevant sites. As an SEO you of course have sites of interest in the industries that you have previously worked with as opposed to an industry that you never worked with.

I feel Optimized has a great take and somewhat innovative take about how to present valuable information to both people who want to do their SEO themselves as well as the ones looking for an SEO consultant … and that can maybe now found consultant that is actually recommended for their specific industry.

Everyone has a blog now and its getting even  more popular. The main reason why this is being more popular is creating a blog is very easy, just like you create an email account and its free. There are hundreds of websites which offers free blog hosting.  Wordpress, Blogstop, Vox, Blogsome are some of them. And the second reason is its very helpful in the business as well as the personal use. Only creating a free blog site does not help in business, it need to have good traffics to get something from this. Here I am going to give your some tips on getting more visitors for your site.

1. Be friendly. Put links to other blog on your blogroll and ask them to put your blog on their site. Be very polite and say something good about them if you’re going to do this with someone whom you don’t know. If your friends also run blog then its easy. Just talk to them and you’re done.

2. Trackbacks are another easy way to get traffics. There are some great and big blogs which shows the pingbacks to them. They have great number of readers . This was you can bring those readers to your blog.

3. Comment on other blogs often. Visit some blogs everyday and leave useful comments on all of them. If your comments help other or if they find your comment useful they will surely come to your site.

4. Social bookmarking sites are another source for the visitors. Digg, stumbleupon drives good amount of traffics to you site if you get dugg or stumbled. There are various pluggins available for the blogs which make bookmarking easy.   Once you put those pluggins on your blog, reader will be able to bookmark your article in easy steps.

These are not the only methods to get visitors to your site. a lot of other methods also can generate good number of visitors to you blog. Traffics exchange is also another good way. Some of the good traffic exchange programme is blogexplosion and linkreferral.  You can also get visitors from technorati and other blog search engines by writing on the top tags.

Importance of Keyword Density in SEO

Tuesday, July 31st, 2007

Keyword density generally means the amount of the targeted keywords in you content. It also can be defined as the ratio of the keyword and your contend. This is another factor which should be taken very carefully. If the keyword density is good then you might get very good number of visitors from the Search Engines to your site. Some people say its not really important thing but I will tell you in this article how keyword density is important and why you should care about it.

One of the main source of your website traffic is Search Engine. Search Engine drives visitor to you site according to your content crawled by the crawlers. So its pretty simple, SE crawls the website and index in the database. If you have sufficient numbers of keywords then it shows your site for the required keyword. If you have only one or two keywords into the 500 words articles your site may not be noticed. So you should use sufficient number of keywords on your content.

So how many keywords are sufficient? Experts says 2.5% of keyword density is very good. But it doesn’t matter if it goes up to 3% in my experience. People use even more keyword density on their site sometimes but keyword density is not all what the overall performance depends upon. You can find several sites coming in the top position for a keyword which have less keyword density that other websites. So, you should equally look in other factors like link building etc.

You can find several tools to check your keyword density. One of them is in SEO chat. Go there, check your keyword density and optimize your content like I said. It will help a lot.Every time you change the content or you update your site the keyword density also changes. So you should always take care about that when updating the website or changing the content.

The new era of social networking sites

Thursday, June 21st, 2007

Myspace and Facebook are the most popular social networking sites but the concept of social networking has much more to do with than just what Myspace offers.
The concept behind the social networking sites is there ability to allow its users to have a constant contact with there friends and partners. Social networking sites give you a complete new area of making new friends and networking with a whole lot of people. The tradition concept of meeting in café and in public places is just digitized by these social networking sites. Though the older tradition will not fade away but people will connect online more and more.
The social networking analyst have feeling that the popularity which Myspace and Facebook has is only a mirage and will fade in long time but the concept of networking with people for business purpose will continue since it was shows the potential.
Even though sites like Myspace has problem but social networking will not fade away. People will connect online and the ability to different things like writing blogs, uploading images and videos from single dashboard is much exciting.
Since the advent of Web 2.0 social networking sites have come into existence. The basic principle of these sites is that they are based on user generate content and besides Myspace, there are tons of other sites that allow people to connect in very different way. Sites like Digg, del.icio.us, stumble upon allow you to add your sites link into their database, so if you have site about Indian MBA then you can add your link into these sites and anyone searching for an MBA in India in these sites is going to find your site. This is also a different way of connecting with people.

What is pagerank?

Thursday, June 21st, 2007

In earlier days of internet, a website’S popularity was measured in how many people visit it, how popular is its content and what tools the sites uses. But those days faded away very quick and now the biggest way to major any website’s success is its pagerank. Now Google is ruling the internet and its tools are measuring the success of website
Pagerank has become one of the most popular ways of measuring success. But what actually is pagerank? Pagerank is the value Google gives to any website. If your website is new and has no backlinks then your website’s Pagerank (PR) will be 0 and as you create more and more backlinks too your website your PR will increase. Google takes every backlinks from other site as a vote to your site , if you get a link from a new site then power of the link will be less but if you can get a backlinks from big sites like Yahoo! or MSN then Google takes that link as high quality and give you more PR.
Google’s PR is the main tool to major popularity of a site but still Google says that you need to make your site for your visitors not for Pagerank, because according to them the more visitor you get more popular your website will be.
